EBOOK SYNOPSIS:

Breaking from traditional historical interpretations of the period, Eric Nellis takes a long view of the origins and consequences of the Revolution and asserts that the Revolution was not, as others have argued, generated by a well-developed desire for independence, but rather by a series of shifts in British imperial policies after 1750. Nellis argues that the Revolution was still being shaped as late as 1820 and that many racial, territorial, economic, and constitutional issues were submerged in the growth of the republic and the enthusiasm of the population. In addressing the nature of the Revolution, Nellis suggests that the American Revolution and American political systems and principles are unique and much less suited for export than many Americans believe.

EBOOK SYNOPSIS:

If one is looking for answers to the meaning of life and how to make a happier, richer existence—e.g., relationships, finances, health—then Neville’s teaching from personal experience, testimonies from students, and his amazing visions paralleling and explaining the mysteries of the Old and New Testament will answer those questions. Learn his techniques, unleash your power to create, believe in your imaginal acts, and no power in this world can stop the desired results from appearing in your world. It’s the only creative power, one that everyone is operating moment to moment. Learning how to direct it deliberately is essential to producing loving, positive changes in one’s life. These 1963 lectures also begin a nine-year odyssey of discovering the deepest meanings of six visions of the End that had unfolded in Neville (1959–1963). The visions are the signs that this long journey as limited man, the terrible opacity and contraction, is over, that the purpose of human life has been completed—man has endured and overcome six thousand years of amnesia plus the fires of experience and has emerged victorious. He’s been transformed by his inner being (I AM, God) back into the divinity he truly is . . . and always was.

EBOOK SYNOPSIS:

"The Awakening: The Last Great Paradigm Shift" is a refreshing and enlightening look into the seemingly unexplainable malaise that has taken hold in the modern day Christian church. As we take a peek into the twenty-first Century American Church, we see what appears to be a new phenomenon that is unfolding. This development has both Pastor and parishioner grappling for answers. There is a group within the Church, which, in large part, has provided the inspiration for the writing of this book. This group is experiencing a "falling away" within the end time Church of today. This group of believers still loves God and has a strong affinity for the things of God and, yet, they are experiencing an emptiness that is overwhelming and, furthermore, are no longer getting the satisfaction they once received from the Church. The Church and its status quo attitude and behavior is no longer fulfilling, satisfying or gratifying and the resultant emptiness is overbearing. And two questions that beg to be answered are why is this state of apostasy now so prominent in the Church and how did we get here? This book, among other things, tackles these issues from both a Biblical and historical perspective. This book is truly a must read for the end time believer in search of spiritual truth, insight and awakening. This book will challenge the modern day believer to look at where they are, to choose who they are going to serve and if they are willing to do it God's way. After having read this book, I feel challenged all the more. Rev. P Spears The Awakening is truly enlightening for the seeking, searching, 21st century believer. A refreshing revelation of Biblical truth. E Beech

EBOOK SYNOPSIS:

More and more people are “waking up” spiritually. And for most of them, the question becomes: now what? “Information about life after awakening is usually not made public,” explains Adyashanti. “It’s most often shared only between teachers and their students.” The End of Your World is his response to a growing need for direction on the spiritual path. Consider the book you hold in your hands Adyashanti’s personal welcome to “a new world, a state of oneness.” Adyashanti begins by describing the “I got it/I lost it” phenomenon that perplexes so many of his students—the fluctuation between what he calls “nonabiding” awakening and the ultimate state of “abiding” enlightenment. With straight talk and penetrating insight, Adyashanti then points out the pitfalls and cul-de-sacs that “un-enlighten” us along the journey, including the trap of meaninglessness, how the ego can “co-opt” realization for its own purposes, the illusion of superiority that may accompany intense spiritual breakthroughs, and the danger of becoming “drunk on emptiness.” “Full awakening comes when you sincerely look at yourself, deeper than you’ve imagined, and question everything,” teaches Adyashanti. The End of Your World is your invitation to join Adyashanti for an honest investigation of what you really are—and how to live once you discover it. Contents Chapter One: Exploring Life After Awakening Chapter Two: Authentic Awakening—And the Disorientation That Can Follow Chapter Three: “I Got It, I Lost It” Chapter Four: We Come to Nirvana by Way of Samsara Chapter Five: Coming Completely Out of Hiding Chapter Six: Common Delusions, Traps, and Points of Fixation Chapter Seven: Life Itself Holds Up a Mirror for Our Awakening Chapter Eight: The Energetic Component of Awakening Chapter Nine: When Awakening Penetrates the Mind, Heart, and Gut Chapter Ten: Effort or Grace? Chapter Eleven: The Natural State Chapter Twelve: The Story of the Wedding Chapter Thirteen: An Interview With Adyashanti Excerpt There’s a phenomenon happening in the world today. More and more people are waking up—having real, authentic glimpses of reality. By this I mean that people seem to be having moments where they awaken out of their familiar senses of self, and out of their familiar senses of what the world is, into a much greater reality—into something far beyond anything they knew existed. These experiences of awakening differ from person to person. For some, the awakening is sustained over time, while for others the glimpse is momentary—it may last just a split second. But in that instant, the whole sense of “self” disappears. The way people perceive the world suddenly changes, and they find themselves without any sense of separation between themselves and the world. It can be likened to the experience of waking up from a dream—a dream you didn’t even know you were in until you were jolted out of it. In the beginning of my teaching work, most of the people who came to me were seeking these deeper realizations of spirituality. They were seeking to wake up from the limited and isolated senses of self they had imagined themselves to be. It’s this yearning that underpins all spiritual seeking: to discover for ourselves what we already intuit to be true—that there is more to life than we are currently perceiving. But as time has passed, more and more people are coming to me who have already had glimpses of this greater reality. It is because of them that I am giving the teachings of this book.

EBOOK SYNOPSIS:

Fa-Tsang (643-712) was an important early figure in the development of Hua-yen Buddhism and is counted by the Third Patriach and first great systematizer of the school. It would be difficult to overstate the importance of the Awakening of Faith to the history of East Asian Buddhism. It has been esteemed by most of the tradition's major schools and has accordingly had an enormous impact of the development of East Asian Buddhist thought. It is not surprising then that it has been a favorite topic for Buddhist exegetes and to date upwards of two hundred commentaries have been produced. Of all these works though, Fa-Tsang's text has always been considered among the 2 or 3 definitive interpretations. Generations of Buddhists have consulted his work in their efforts to understand the Awakening of Faith and his interpretations has accordingly had a deep and lasting influence on the tradition. In light of all this, this book presents us with, for the first time, a translation in English a view of a key Chinese Buddhist's interpretation of one of the most influential texts in the history of East Asian Buddhism. This not only sheds light on the development of Fa-Tsang's thought and the Hua-Yen school, but also provides further information pertinent to the development of other schools such as T'ien-t'ai and Ch'an.
